My uncle is an artist and I remember seeing one work in particular that was on rice paper. It was the colour of the surface that I was initially drawn to, so I began to work with xuan paper from that moment on. What continues to keep me interested in rice paper is that there are so many different kinds of rice paper each wth its own characteristic.
Techniques: I don’t really follow the traditional chinese way of painting be it Gong Bi or Sumi style. I just put ink onto the paper and repeat this process until something happens.

Teaching: I am not qualified to teach and not able to recommend any painting classes in London. I am self taught in this medium and its always rewarding to figure things out yourself.
