What can you tell me about the origin of this stone? Is it made of Yushan stone (玉山罗纹砚) or something else?

Thank you very much! We were told by the Old Hu Kai Wen factory that this is low grade She stone. However, I am not really sure which grade it belongs to because compared to the top grade She stones, such as those customised by Inkston, this stone seems different.  However, we are sure to tell you that this Old Hu Kai Wen stone is better than the YuShan stone.

Thank you for asking them! I was probably right in assuming that it’s a „better student inkstone.“ I sometimes see Yushan sold in the name of She stone with a ripple pattern. Apparently not all Yushan stone is bad, but the market is a little confusing.
