yes, it is ready to use. You need to stir it frequently. Please do not use metal products to touch the paste. Every time you finish using the paste, remember to wrap it with cling film. 🙂 We once wrote one article about seal paste, and I think you might be interested.

Dear cwtmovement, thanks for your good question! Yes, unless it is said specifically, the default inkston handmade Xuan paper size is 138 * 70 cm. If it is marked as ‘half-width’, then it is 138 * 35 cm. The exception is for size/ cooked Xuan paper which is slightly smaller than 138 * 70cm because we need to hand trim it a little bit after sizing the paper. We mark the width as 60cm but it is normally between 60 and 70cm.
Sorry, I cannot quite get what you mean by saying ‘ Are sheet packs the more traditional way of purchasing xuan papers or are rolls? ‘. Do you mean how we pack the paper? We pack them in rolls or fold it in the traditional way as long as it can help keep Xuan paper in perfect condition without getting crease.
Would Expert Calligraphy paper be considered a single or a double xuan paper?
All our inkston default Xuan paper is single Xuan paper, unless we specifically mark it as double layer or extreme thin cicada wing. You can find our doubly layer xuan paper here, *Our doubly layer xuan paper is usually commented as thick as triple layer xuan paper.

Thanks cwtmovement,This is a fine pine soot inkstick from Cao Su Gong, a famous inkstick brand from Shanghai. The equivalent inkstick is Old Hu Kai Wen´s extra fine pine soot inkstick. 🙂
Hi vrenifrena, thanks for your question! These three inksticks are all good for calligraphy. They can also be used for painting.The price per gram indicates different grades of the cinnabar inkstick. The 朱砂墨 Cinnabar Inkstick is currently the highest grade at Inkston. These three cinnabar inksticks are all very good options for Advanced Level, Beginners, Medium Level, Professionals.
