Handmade in the most traditional way with spring water, rice straw, and 2 years old Pterocelti Tatarinowii tree barks.
This pack of paper is handmade at the ancient Xuan Paper workshop featured in Xuan paper making – a Unesco intangible heritage.
For more information about Xuan paper types and usage see Chinese Xuan 1,000 year old Truth paper.
This is tested by Chinese Gongbi artist Huang Guo Hong.
comment: ‘this is a high grade paper. However, it is better to leave the paper for several months to leave the ‘paper fire’ disappear so that the paper can reach the best performance.’

It is very usefull for the next shopping. The sample pack is made very nicely and clearly. All these samples have big dimensions, so it is really good for choosing “the right” type of paper.

The XUAN-Paper is very nice. For some paintings I prefer the back (has a little bit more “structure”.)

Lastly for the paper samples, I really enjoyed how detailed the pack really was. Each paper was labeled and showed what was recommended which I like a lot. It’ll help me pick a new paper once i need more 😀

Recommended for others who want to experiment
These are samples not for large paintings but for the price and to try the different varieties of paper, I was more than pleased.
I used several for small paintings which are now in a show. I would order again and would recommend it to others who want to experiment. -
Five Stars.
Perfect. Great quality product. Thank you. -
Your sample packet was very nice with a huge selection of papers. I wish the paper size was a little bit larger to allow more testing of specific brushwork, but I really appreciate that the sample wasn’t small! Your sample packaging is very classy and looks very professional, and the inclusion of the comparison table is great!

Good quality double Xuan paper. The paper is smooth with good weight, and bleeds just enough when used for landscape work.

Craftsmanship is mastery!
It is a real pleasure to only hold this paper in your hands, see and feel it.
I will take in account the above mentioned advice of Gongbi Artist Huang Guo Hong and am anxious to know what this paper will teach me in a few months time.
